Chia and Banana Breakfast Bowl

This small breakfast bowl of mine was so amazing! I love to have chia seeds every know and then. They are so satisfying and fun to play around with. They give you more energy and are a great source of protein, fiber and omega 3 fatty acids. Great right?

I have been using chia seeds for about 4 years and they never let me down! The seeds expand 10 times their size in liquid. I always love to watch them expand in the water (I feel like a magician).

For this small delicious breakfast bowl you will need:

3-4 bananas, frozen or fresh (I used frozen)
1/2 cup or more of  frozen or fresh raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries or cherries (I used cherries and raspberries)
Chia seeds soaked in water (use as much as you like, I used about 1 tbsp of chia seeds with 4 tbsp of water)
Banana slices, berries and mulberries for garnish.
* feel free to add spices such as cinnamon or even vanilla bean powder if you desire.

First, soak your chia seeds in water, the seeds will need about 10 minutes to expand in the water. I like to use a jar because then I can shake the jar and it´s a lot of fun. I think it´s much easier and more convenient than using a spoon to blend the seeds with water.

In a food processor or blender, blend your bananas and berries (add water if needed, but as little as possible!). Pour into your breakfast bowl and add the soaked chia seeds in top. Garnish with banana slices, mulberries and berries.
